Taut Wire Perimeter Intrusion Detection System

DTR 90 / 2000
Revolutionizing Perimeter Protection

The DTR line of taut wire perimeter intrusion detection systems revolutionized the ENTIRE perimeter protection field by combining a true physical barrier with highly reliable intrusion detection in one cost-effective package.

Over the years, the DTR-TWIDS (Taut Wire Intrusion Detection System) systems have established a solid reputation for successfully preventing perimeter intrusion with a minimum of false alarms. The DTR systems are today in use worldwide, in hilly terrain, jungles, deserts, seashore sites, etc. protecting some of the most security sensitive installations and borders on the globe.

The DTR-90 model is a time proven version suitable for medium and high security applications. The DTR-2000 model is a recently enhanced version utilizing two taut wires per sensor sensititivy. The DTR-2000 is intended for those clients having very high security applications.

The DTR Series systems can be erected as stand-alone fencing, attached to conventional chain-link fencing, or mounted on existing walls, gates, roofing, etc. No power supply is required in the field. At the heart of the systems are our patented, self-adjusted sensor switches. These sensors are clamped at the mid-point of horizontal barbed wires which have been stretched and pre-tensioned between two rigid anchor posts.

The sensor switches are mounted within a tamper-proof enclosure with tamper and anti-clamping alarm features. Deflection of a wire, as a result of an intruder climbing over or through the fence or the release of tension by cutting of a wire, causes actuation of the lever arm of the sensor, which results in closure of the switch contact. The alarm contacts are monitored by any central processor unit or hard-wired control unit.

Very Low False Alarm Rate

The latest generation DTR-90/2000 incorporates a very reliable, computerized, on-line intrusion alarm system with an extremely low false alarm rate (FAR) of less than 1 false alarm per 3 months, per kilometer, even in harsh climatic conditions.

Deflection of a DTR-90/2000 fence wire by spreading, climbing over or through the fence or release of wire tension by cutting, causes an immediate visual and audio alarm signal at the system's central control.

The intrusion alarm system remains unaffected by forces of up to 25 kg. (50 lbs.), preventing false alarms caused by such small animals as rabbits, birds, cats and dogs.
