DTS 1000
Outdoor Video Motion Detection System

This unique Video Motion Detection System, DTS 1000 ( Detection and Tracking System) has brought this form of Intrusion Detection System to the forefront of technology.

The System's advanced tracking feature, the extremely small target and low contrast recognition give it reliability, negligible False Alarm Rate and new fields of application which were hitherto unavailable.

Any number of cameras between 1 and 32 can be used. Switching between cameras can be accomplished either manually -- by the operator -- or automatically, by having a software programmable timing sequence for each camera. A priority sequencing assures that any designated camera having an alarm condition will take precedence on the screen.

For each camera certain areas are designated by the user as areas to be protected. These areas are called Areas Of Interest (AOI) and can be easily defined on site by the user.

The main problem associated with previous Video Motion Detection Systems -- namely the high False Alarm Rate due to changing weather and lighting conditions -- have been eliminated. The DTS 1000 will operate reliably day or night, being unaffected by rain, clouds or light contrast changes.

The system incorporates a "Learning Cycle." This feature enables the system to "learn" the site and assists the operator in the definition of the AOI.

Although having an extremely high detection rate even in adverse conditions, the system nevertheless avoids most False Alarms commonly associated with previous systems. By using the "Human Character Recognition" option in the setup, the False Alarm Rate can be reduced further.

When an alarm is received by the system, the first visual frame of the alarm indication is "frozen" and recorded on the computer hard disc. If a VCR is connected to the system, the tracking of the intruder for each alarm condition is recorded as well.

All parameters affecting the alarm conditions can be easily changed by the supervisor. These include such variables as intrusion speed, object size (compensated for distance from the camera by pseudo 3D recognition), threat direction, distance to be covered before an alarm is indicated, camera angles, heights and lens parameters, etc. Each camera may have different sets of parameters. These may be changed either manually or automatically on a software determined time basis or by external inputs.

The DTS 1000 will work with virtually any camera, including IR, ICCD, etc. Exchanging cameras when required can be easily accomplished by superimposing the previously recorded frame with a newly recorded one and matching both on permanently located cross-hair locations.

Data Sheet

The DTS 1000 state-of-the-art Video Motion Detection System is designed and optimized for outdoor as well as indoor use.

 Unequaled Performance

Greatly improved digital signal processing hardware and software eliminate most alarms associated with earlier generations of systems.

Intruder Tracking Feature

The highly sophisticated algorithms implemented by the software enable the system to differentiate between objects with or without human characteristics, to selectively track targets in predetermined areas, directions, speed and size and to sound an alarm only if the above criteria are met.

System Compatibility

The DTS 1000 is fully compatible with all CCIR and RS-170-CCTV Systems. (External synchronization of the cameras is not required.) The DTS 1000 will work with virtually any camera, including IR, ICCD, etc.
